To become an EAC trainer one must attend a Tutor Training Workshop and a
Story Approach Workshop or an EASEL Institute.
Workshop and institute participants will have the opportunity to apply for internships with EAC to become trainers.
A Tutor Training Workshop for adult and teen outreach ministries is a 20-hour interactive training workshop. It will prepare a new tutor to teach English using our Connection Series and to use interactive strategies, such as games and activities. Practice teaching sessions are included in order for the new tutors to be able to begin their English outreach immediately following the workshop.
A Story Approach Workshop for educators is a 20-hour interactive training workshop to learn the techniques of
The Story Approach. It will prepare an educator (teacher, aide, principal/director) to teach English, and even other languages, using
stories— Bible stories or ones with kingdom principles. Training sessions normally include teaching and mentoring time in the classroom. Participants will learn how to incorporate Bible stories and those with kingdom principles, songs and activities into their required curriculum.
An EASEL Institute is a 2-week interactive training to prepare a participant to be able to start a teen and adult English outreach class and use the Story Approach to teach K-12th grade. It is also appropriate for adult classes under certain circumstances. A modified Story Approach is used in our curriculum for teens and adults.
Workshop and Institute participants will have the opportunity to apply for internships with EAC to become trainers.
